26 Sep Convenient Parking Options Close to our Charming Hotel in Whitby
The LilyRose Hotel opened in the first quarter of 2023, and has an enviable location, just a few minutes stroll from the famous Whitby Pavilion. Our picturesque coastal town welcomes visitors all year round and the work that the locals have done to maintain its charm and accessibility to pedestrians is to be applauded.
The LilyRose Hotel in Whitby is a 18(19) bedroomed hotel and although we don’t have onsite parking for our guests, we are delighted to help you find parking spaces, before or when you arrive in Whitby to check-in. In high season, parking can be a challenge but don’t worry in this blog we will give you some tips and information to help you find convenient parking as close to our hotel as possible. If you are arriving in during peak season, usually considered April to September, or during busy weekends which tend to be festival weekends, it must be noted that parking will be limited.
W Zone Parking in Whitby / Disc
Parking in Whitby is divided into several parking zones, and most guests staying with choose to park in Zone W using disc parking. These pre-paid parking permits/scratch cards are required for this zone and allow our guests park for up to four days and will be provided for our guests and must be purchased before arrival. If you are staying longer than four days, we will reissue your parking disc for another four days. The streets in this Whitby W zone include the following.

Public Parking (Pay & Display)
Most of us are used to Pay and Display public car parks, and there are several located in Whitby. If you want to leave your vehicle parked in one of the public car parks, make sure to check times and rates as these can change from time to time. Some offer short and long stay, so do check for details.
West Cliff Car Park; One of the biggest public car parks, with 424 spaces & 4 disabled bays. – 17 Royal Cres, West Cliff, Whitby YO21 3EG
Endeavour Wharf Car Parks; Located around the Marina and Endeavour Wharf, short and long stay parking – Langborne Rd, Whitby YO21 1YW
Church Street Car Park; 92 Spaces and 3 Disabled spaces are available here, with short and long stay durations available. – Church St, Whitby YO22 4AS
Whitby Abbey Parking: This is a short or long stay car park with 415 spaces and 6 disabled spaces. – Whitby YO22 4ER
Free On Street Parking
There is a limited amount of free on street parking in Whitby, and more so around the West Cliff as opposed to the East side. It is advisable to read any signs that clearly indicate parking rules and regulations.
Whitby Park and Ride
If you are arriving by public transport of course you don’t have to worry too much about parking, however, do reach out to our friendly staff if you are looking to arrive by car and we will do all we can to help you with queries that you have. Once you have the stress of finding a parking space behind you, you can concentrate on enjoying your stay with us, and all that Whitby has to offer.
Although it may not suit guests staying with us, the Whitby Park and Ride facility is very popular especially during peak season and gives you the option to park outside town and relax as a bus takes you to the centre of town.
