What’s on in Whitby This Summer and Why You Need to Book Early!

The sun is shining, summer has arrived, and we are busier than ever before at the LilyRose Hotel, Whitby. June, July, and August are packed with events of all sizes, taking place in the best coastal town of Yorkshire, and we want to inspire you to visit by sharing some of them here with you.

June 2023

16th – 24th: Catch up with some musical tribute acts including Alanis UK, The Ragdolls, Rod Stewart Tribute and Elvis Presley. Most of these events take place in or around the Whitby Pavilion, just a 5-minute stroll from the LilyRose Hotel.

July 2023

1st: If you are an art lover or appreciate this work, you’ll love strolling around the Whitby Art Fair

7th – 10th: A big one on the calendar is Whitby Soul Weekender. This is already a sell-out event and has been taking place in Whitby since 2002. Always worth giving our hotel a call if you are looking for last minute hotel space.

29th – 30th Whitby Ahoy: A truly unique festival celebrating the love of Sea Music and Shanties. Ticket prices range from £15 upwards.

August 2023

An incredibly busy month on the calendar of events in Whitby

6th – 8th: Whitby Traction Rally. A sight to behold, the traction rally takes place right beside the magnificent ruins of the Abbey, located just 15 minutes from the town centre and the LilyRose Hotel. There is a packed programme of activities, one highlight of which is the fireworks display on Saturday night.

10th – 12th: Whitby Blues Weekend. With too many acts to name from far flung destinations, Whitby Pavilion is home to a weekend of incredible music acts. Day or weekend tickets are available.

19th – 25rd: Whitby Folk Week organisers have put together a super programme including a strong line up of concerts, ceilidhs and dances, workshops, and storytellers. Not to be missed
