WHITBY TOURING LOOP

Distance: 11.4 miles – Time needed: 1 hr 15 mins approx.

Start and finish at Cinder Track Terminus, Whitby.

You’ll travel 24% on cycle track and 75% on road, and this route is a lovely intro to riding in the North Moors National Park. Look out for the Larpool Viaduct or Esk Valley Viaduct. This gentle route is made for a quiet morning or afternoon cycle.

SCARBOROUGH TO WHITBY

Distance: 21.7 miles – Time needed: 1 hr 50 mins approx.

Start at Scarborough, Safe Ways Park and finish at Whitby Abbey.

Taking in some beautiful scenery along the way, the route is pretty much traffic free apart from a handful of junctions in in Scalby, Ravenscar, Robin Hood’s Bay and Whitby. From Whitby you can continue to Redcar if you wish.

SANDSEND BEACH & CAFES LOOP FROM RUSWARP

Distance: 11 miles – Time needed: 1 hr 10 mins approx.

Start at Ruswarp Train Station, Safe Ways Park and finish at Whitby Abbey.

Good fitness is required for this route, as you need to go up and down steps and carry your bike from time to time.
