MAY 2025:

17.05 and 18.05 – Whitby Fish and Ships Festival 2025: Celebrating our maritime heritage, this festival includes food tasting, music and other activities to enjoy.

28.05 – The Planting of the Penny Hedge 2025: An ancient tradition dating back to 1159 which involves planting a hedge in the estuary of the Upper Harbour.

JUNE 2025:

06.06 to 08.06 – Robin Hood’s Bay Folk Weekend 2025: A fun weekend of folk music, dance, concerts and singing centred around the seaside town of Robin Hood’s Bay.

29.06 – The Malton Show 2025: Includes a Farmer’s Market selling fresh fruit and other local cuisine. Get up close with the horses, learn about the tractors, or watch the annual Middleton Hunt Parade of the Hounds. There is also live entertainment and traditional funfair rides.

JULY 2025:

03.07 and 04.07 – Made in Whitby Summer Festival: Held in the grounds of Whitby Abbey, during this festival local artists and creators display their products, showcasing the creative spirit of Whitby.

04.07 – Whitby Soul Weekender 2025: A weekend featuring the best of Northern Soul, Motown and Modern Soul. There are also live DJs, plenty of bars and a dance floor arena.

19.07 and 20.07 – The Great Seaside Vintage Fair 2025: Vintage fashion and homewares from the 1920’s to the 1980’s in Whitby Pavilion.

25.07 – Whitby Steampunk Weekend July 2025: One of the biggest steampunk festivals in the UK, Whitby Steampunk Weekend brims with unique seminars, vendors, activities, and presentations.

AUGUST 2025:

01.08 to 03.08 – Whitby Engine Traction Rally 2025: A spectacular live stunt show and steam fair with various activities and events, including tractor pulling, classic cars, arts and crafts, and a funfair.

08.08 to 10.08 – Staithes and Runswick RNLI Weekend 2025: A lifeboat weekend with activities for the whole family. A great way to teach the kids about water safety.

08.08 – Hinderwell Horse and Agricultural Show 2025: A popular horse show which happens in nearby Hinderwell.

09.08 to 11.08 – Whitby Regatta 2025: Yacht and rowing races, including free entertainment. Finishes with a spectacular firework display.

16.08 to 22.08 – Whitby Folk Week 2025: Celebrates traditional British songs, dances, music, and storytelling.

12.09 and 13.09 – Whitby Motown & Soul Weekender 2025: A nostalgic trip to the 60s, 70s, and 80s with live acts, DJs, and non-stop dancing across three rooms.

19.09 to 21.09 – Whitby’s 60’s Festival 2025: Enjoy a full weekend of sixties music, featuring some of the biggest names of the 1960s.

OCTOBER 2025:

24.10 to 02.11 – Illuminated Abbey 2025: Witness Whitby Abbey illuminated in all the colours of the rainbow, enjoy live performances, delicious local food, and toast marshmallows at this fun and family-friendly event.

24.10 to 26.10 – Musicport 2025: A three-day music festival from October 24th to 26th. Enjoy music acts across three stages, a DJ hub, a festival bazaar, and a pop-up comedy theatre.

30.10 – Whitby Goth Weekend, Autumn 2025: An alternative music event founded in 1994. Goths from around the world gather in Whitby to celebrate gothic culture, music and fashion.

NOVEMBER 2025:

08.11 and 09.11 – Whitby Blues Festival 2025: Dedicated to Blues music and featuring popular acts.

15.11 to 17.11 – Whitby Christmas Market & Festival 2025: A family-friendly Christmas event to help you get into the Christmas spirit before the big day.

DECEMBER 2025:

06.12 to 07.12 – Robin Hood’s Bay Victorian Weekend 2025: Immerse yourself in the festive spirit as Robin Hood’s Bay transforms into a Victorian village, complete with unique and homemade gifts, jewellery, homeware, toys and tree decorations.
