31 Mar Feeling peckish? We’ve got some great suggestions for dining in Whitby.
It’s a well-known fact that the sea air can lower stress, nudge us to get out and walk more and generally make us feel good. It’s also widely acknowledged that the sea air can also increase our appetite, which is why we’ve compiled a list of some of the most popular places to eat in Whitby.
The wonderful thing about staying at the Lily Rose Hotel Whitby is our proximity to so many fantastic places to eat at any time of the day. A word of warning, though, there are so many great coffee shops, cafes, bars and restaurants to choose from in Whitby you may need to allow a lot of time to browse through menus before deciding on where suits your tastes, budget and appetite.
We’ve come up with 5 options to cover breakfast, brunch, lunch, dinner and of course fish and chips.
Located on Skinner Street, they offer a range of delicious and alternative breakfasts, and specialise in vegetarian and gluten free options. Eat in or takeaway, it’s open everyday except Wednesday & Sunday.
Described as a ‘hidden gem’ they are well known for their broad selection of great cakes, and interesting menus. Not only that, although slightly off the beaten track located on Silver Street, they also have a gorgeous courtyard that’s buzzing with patrons during the summer months. Top Tip – ask about their Gin selection (approx. 150 to choose from)
If fine dining in a charming atmosphere is on your to do list, consider Dinner at Estbek House. A little pricier than most places, you may want to check it out for a special occasion or celebratory dinner during your time in Whitby. Advance booking is required.
Who doesn’t love a good Italian meal? Another Church Street eatery, it boasts excellent food and service and comes highly rated on trip advisor.
Although these are only suggested places to eat, we hope that you enjoy your time in Whitby and especially at the Lily Rose Hotel. We always welcome and value your feedback on where you have might recommend for our future guests to eat, so we can add them to our extensive list.
